Overview:

The Government’s Home Upgrade Grant 2 (HUG) funded free energy saving upgrades and low carbon heating for low-income households living in off-gas grid homes. The funding paid for home improvements, such as upgrades to heating systems and insulation. View measures installed here.

Our role:

Nottingham Energy Partnership worked with local authorities and contractors to deliver Home Upgrade Grants to homes in Nottinghamshire and Nottingham City.

We aimed to raise the energy efficiency of hard to heat homes, delivering a package of fully-funded energy saving upgrades covering free home insulation and/or free low carbon heating measures.

Let’s Optimise your Heating

November 22 to May 23

Overview:

This scheme played a key part in Nottinghamshire County Council’s 2023 Cost of Living campaign. It introduced households within Nottinghamshire to a quick way of saving money on their gas bill quickly and easily at a time when money was tight.

It encouraged households with a combi-boiler to reduce the flow temperature to a minimum of 60°C. This enables the boiler to go into condensing mode and therefore operate more efficiently as less gas is required to heat the water.

Our role:

Marketing: NEP marketed the scheme via an online project page which featured the a step by step leaflet guide and video. A social media campaign ran throughout the project’s duration, it was advertised in local magazines and featured on BBC East Midland’s Today.

Home Visits: NEP were also commissioned to carry out home visits to vulnerable individuals who wanted support in adjusting their boiler - they visited 287 properties.

Partners: NEP, Nesta and Nottinghamshire County Council

Funded by: Nottinghamshire County Council (£150,000)
