Home Energy Advice Team

(H.E.A.T) Hub

NEP’s HEAT Hub project provides free, energy advice across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire to homeowners ready to take practical action to improve their home. From personalised home energy plans to workshops, webinars and resources, the HEAT Hub helps you understand your options and take your first steps towards retrofit with confidence.

Whether your home is hard to heat, in a conservation area or off the gas grid, HEAT Hubs takes a whole-house approach to help you plan improvements that can make your home warmer, more energy efficient and more affordable to run, while reducing carbon emissions.

Get a Tailored Home Energy Plan

If you want to improve the energy performance of your home but aren’t sure where to start, we provide tailored home energy plans, based on an in-depth retrofit assessment of your home, which detail the recommended step-by-step changes for your home.

The plans are aimed at homeowners of “hard-to-heat” properties, which are often energy inefficient, within conservation areas, or not connected to the gas grid. Retrofitting these homes often comes with many challenges, the objective of the plan is to break down these barriers, recommend what’s suitable for your home and order it into a logical plan, detailing the quick wins and long term objectives.

Attend a Workshop or Webinar

The HEAT Hub runs free retrofit advice events, practical workshops and online talks led by experienced retrofit professionals, installers and contractors.

Learn about insulation, ventilation, low-carbon measures and renewables, or hear directly from local residents at our Whole House Retrofit Parties. These informal sessions give neighbours the chance to share real retrofit experiences, advice and lessons learned, helping others make informed decisions.

We also offer hands-on DIY sessions covering Internal Wall Insulation, lime plastering, roof insulation and more.
