NEP Climate Hub

32 Turney Street, Meadows, Nottingham, NG2 2LG

The Climate Hub officially launched January 2023.

Welcome to the East Midland’s first Climate Hub!

The Climate Hub was once a standard Victorian ground floor flat in the Meadows. With a shared vision and the expertise of NEP’s in-house architects and project managers, the building has been transformed into an energy efficient, inviting community resource for the Meadows. All works have been funded through our Green Meadows project.

Here residents can get involved in hands on and theoretical workshops and talks - the Hub is home to several cross-sections of home energy improvements which really strengthens the understanding of insulation install processes.

The idea is for residents to upskill so they can use the insulation practices learnt in their own home plus they gain a wider understanding of the climate crisis - how they can make their homes more resilient and adapt their lifestyle to one that is less harmful to the environment.

The space is also open to residents outside the Meadows area, we have recently provided a university group with a tour of the building and talked all things retrofit.

What happens at the hub?

Workshops and Talks

We run regular workshops and talks at the hub during the week and at weekends. Talks range from the theory behind climate change, insulation methods and even DIY workshops - use our tools and upskill!

Toolshare

We have our very own tool library launching soon! Meadow’s resident’s can borrow tools they’ve learnt to use in a hands on workshop so they can make insulation or DIY improvements to their own home.

Tours and talks for wider groups

Our doors are open to groups outside of the Meadows area. If you are part of a group that would like to learn more about the practicalities and methods of retrofit please email Darren Barker (for our time and resources, we do charge a small fee).
