Finally, solid brick houses (those built before the 1940s) can get solid wall insulation grants of up to 60% or more depending on where you live and your personal circumstances. Once insulated, households can save up to £400 a year on their energy bills.
This is part of a national government scheme called ECO/Green Deal set to launch in the New Year. Replacement boilers are also included in the scheme (subject to survey).
Nottingham Energy Partnership is delivering a pilot solid wall insulation scheme in Aspley (Aspley Super Warm Zone) and insulated over 700 houses so far.
