Solar Water Heating

Heating water with sunlight is one of the most straightforward uses of renewable energy. Very simply, water in a dark container will heat up if left in the sunlight. Maximising the amount of heat captured, and the methods of transferring this heat to you domestic hot water cylinder, is where the various SWH technologies compete.

SWH is becoming a mass market technology, with a huge potential in the UK. The downside is that SWH is sometimes sold quite aggressively by the types of company that used to sell double glazing.
