From January 2013, solid wall insulation grants will be available to private sector houses built before the 1940s or those that have concrete walls.
- This sort of insulation can save a household up to £400 off a yearly heating bill
- It acts as a noise barrier and could add value to a property
- All private sector households will be eligible for a grant of up to 60% or more
