NEP is working with independent switching experts iChoosr and local councils to bring Nottinghamshire Switch, Save and Smile. 

The collective switching scheme takes the hassle out of finding you the best deal for your energy bills. 

If you’ve never switched energy supplier or haven’t switched recently, you may be missing out on better tariffs and the opportunity to fix your energy prices.

The more people that sign up, the better the deal is likely to be, so use people power to demand lower prices for gas and electricity.

How does the FREE scheme work?

Residents register their interest, with NO obligation to switch. A reverse auction was held on October 10th where energy companies competed against each other to offer their best possible tariffs. 

The two award winning suppliers are: 

  1. SSE - ranked number 1 for customer service by Citizens Advice for ease of switching and contact.
  2. Boost - dedicated Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) energy brand, and evolution of Supplier of the Year 2017, OVO Energy. 

Both suppliers are able to offer the Warm Home Discount and Priority Service Register.

If you register now, you will receive a personalised offer immediately showing how much you could save by switching to the winning provider or better tariff. If the winning provider is your current supplier, you will not actually 'switch' but will be offered the better tariff. Offers are sent to residents where you then have until November 28th to decide whether to switch supplier/tariff or not. The tariffs are usually for a 12 month period and all rates will be outlined within your offer email/letter.

How much will I save?

You could save an average of £243 on your annual energy prices, so it is definitely worth registering to see how much less you could be paying. If you have not switched for a number of years the savings are likely to be even higher.

What if I don't have internet access?

Residents who do not have internet access can ask a relative, neighbour or friend to assist and registrations can be made using their e-mail address.  One e-mail address can be used for up to five different people to register for the scheme.  However, if residents do not have access to the internet or need assistance with registering, please contact NEP on 0115 784 6696 who are able to make paper registrations on behalf of residents if necessary.
