Corbyn asks for NEP’s input into Labour’s Environment & Energy Strategy

8 August 2016

Yesterday Jeremy Corbyn MP launched Labour's new 'Environment and Energy' strategy to a packed room at the Meadows library, a fitting area of the city as it is
home to community energy organisation MOZES and zero carbon domestic housing development, Green Street.  Corbyn then went on to stand before 2500 supporters
at the Forest Recreation Ground in Forest Fields where his message was one of solidarity
and "empowerment of people".

NEP were in the loop about this visit almost a week ahead of the papers as Jeremy Corbyn's Energy Policy Adviser Alan Simpson requested input from
NEP for Labour's new 'Environment and Energy' Strategy.

Alan Simpson (Twitter: @AlanSimpson01) was the Labour MP for Nottingham South between 1992 and 2010. He now acts as an adviser to Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell on issues around the environment and sustainable economics.

NEP's Miranda Cumberbatch and Phil Angus starred alongside Corbyn in his campaign video putting forward what they think the public needs to live a sustainable future, one that brings real results from practical interventions that have a lasting
effect year on year.

The film also features Julian Marsh, architect, Meadow's resident and NEP board member.
