Green Deal could hit climate change targets?
17 January 2012 Channel 4 News
The government's Green Deal aims to deliver large cuts in carbon emissions. But official figures show it will mean a dramatic fall in British homes being insulated to make them more energy-efficient.
The video below, produced by Channel 4 warns changes in the system of providing insulation grants could lead to a 90% drop in loft insulation installs and a 60% drop in cavity wall installs.
This type of publicity can only be good news - as it will put more pressure on the government to amend their proposals.
David Connor Regional Director of Warm Zones cic has says 'The (Green Deal) Consultation Document did give a positive and specific mention to the Warm Zones area-based partnership approach as a way forward, with the government's Fuel Poverty Advisory Group also commending directly the Warm Zones approach. Many others are also highlighting the value of this approach'.
