Loft insulation

Loft insulation helps to create an even temperature in your home and keeps your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer. It is like a blanket that lets heat escape through your roof at a much slower rate.

The recommended minimum depth of insulation is 270mm (about 12 inches), any less, and your expensively bought heat will leak out, costing you money and making your home colder.

If your loft has not been insulated in the last 10 years, the chances are you could benefit from more loft insulation.

How It Works

Loft Insulation is laid between the joists and may then be applied in a second layer across the joists to prevent the cold bridge which is created by the ceiling plaster board and each of the joists.

You can easily check if your home is up to the latest regulations by lifting the loft hatch and measuring the distance between the top of the insulation and the board below.
