Background
Mr and Mrs Easom are pensioners and live in Aspley.  One of our NottWZ energy assessors left a self assessment form which they completed and returned back to us.  The couple were trying to keep warm by five storage heaters, three of which were beyond repair. 

Measures
The couple previously received free loft insulated via NottWZ back in 2009, so they are already making savings on their heating costs.  Their storage heaters were very unreliable, thankfully the couple are over the age of 60 and in receipt of Warm Front qualifying benefits so NottWZ referred them through for a new central heating system and boiler.

Benefits
The newly installed central heating system and ‘A’ rated boiler are much more efficient, they also allow the couple to set the timer when they want their heating on, rather than having it on constantly.

Costs
The couple are over the age of 60 and in receipt of Warm Front qualifying benefits, this means they did not need to pay anything towards the cost of their new heating system.

Money Saved
The free loft insulation, installed in 2009 has already been saving the couple up to £160 per year on their heating costs.  The new heating system and boiler can save them up to £260 a year on their fuel bills.
