Hot tips to save Energy, Money and Improve Health

  • Insulate your loft and cavity walls if you have them
  • Set your cylinder thermostat at 60 OC / 140 OF
  • Take a shower instead of a bath saving hot water and energy
  • Fix any dripping water taps
  • Only boil as much water in the kettle as you need
  • Fit a hot water tank jacket
  • Fit low energy light bulbs
  • Do not leave electrical appliances on standby
  • Avoid putting furniture in front of radiators as this blocks heat radiating into the room
  • If you are only filling half the washing machine/tumble dryer or dishwasher remember to choose the half load cycle
  • Close your curtains when the sun goes down to prevent heat escaping through the windows
