The Nottinghamshire Fire Service offer FREE Home Risk Assessments to residents within Nottinghamshire. As part of the Home Risk Assessment The Fire Service will offer advice and guidance on all aspects of safety in the home. A trained member of the Fire Service will inspect the home room by room and offer advice on preventing hazards and improving safety.
The Fire Service will also install 12 year smoke detectors FREE of charge, as well as testing existing ones. A fire evacuation plan will be drawn up as part of this service. The service also includes an assessment of the immediate dangers of electrical appliances.
The Fire Service are keen to be actively involved in preventing all types of accidents in the home, not just fire related accidents.
Anyone can apply for this FREE service. Whether you receive benefits or not, own your own home or are a council tenant or are over 60 or younger with children, there are no criteria.
Firefighters want to make it clear that people should not let people into their homes without checking their identification. All firefighters will be in uniform and carrying ID.
