Age Concern Staying Put
The aim of the Staying Put Service is to help older people stay safely and independently in their own homes. Professional staff will inspect properties identifying any defects and provide assistance to rectify faults.
Who can apply?
In order to apply for Staying Put, you must:
- Live within the City of Nottingham
- Be 60 years old or over
- Own your own home (in certain cases Age Concern can help Housing Association and private tenants)
What does the service provide?
- New windows
- New doors
- Roof work
- Damp proof course
- Floors
The Staying Put scheme also offers:
- Advice on repairing and maintaining property
- Provision of property surveys, drawings and schedules of repair
- Obtaining quotes from approved builders and contractors, planning permission etc.
- Supervision of building contracts
- Advice on energy savings
What about gardening and decorating?
Age Concern can provide a list of independent gardeners and decorators. The gardeners and decorators will provide you with an estimate before they start work.
