Grants for heating

Warm Front aims to make homes warmer, healthier and more energy-efficient. The Warm Front Grant provides a package of insulation and heating improvements up to the value of £3,500 (or £6,000 if oil central heating is recommended).

Who can apply?

  • People aged 60 or over
  • Families with children under 16
  • Pregnant women after 26 weeks who have a MATB1 certificate
  • People receiving disability benefits

Also, you must

  • Be a Home Owner, or
  • Rent from a private landlord

AND, you must receive one of the following benefits

  • Income Support
  • Council Tax Benefit
  • Housing Benefit
  • Income Based Job Seekers Allowance
  • Pension Credit
  • Working Tax Credit (with an income of less than £16,040, which must include a disability element)
  • Disability Living Allowance
  • Child Tax Credit (with an income of less than £16,040)
  • War Disablement Pension (which must include a mobility supplement or Constant Attendance Allowance)
  • Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (which must include a mobility supplement or Constant Attendance Allowance)
  • Attendance Allowance
  • Income Support/Housing Benefit/Council Tax Benefit with a disability premium

Warm Front Heating Rebate Scheme

If you are aged 60 and over and do not qualify for a Warm Front Grant because you do not receive a relevant benefit, you may still be eligible for a £300 rebate. This rebate is available to householders who own their home or rent it from a private landlord, who either have no central heating system or one which is inoperable
